Mayor Bowser and DMPED launched the Housing Stabilization Grants to provide COVID-19 related relief to District housing providers. The application period for the Housing Stabilization Grant is now closed. 

Every five years, the District of Columbia updates its economic development strategy. The strategy is a tool for identifying challenges and opportunities, setting goals and priorities, guiding action and investments, and aligning stakeholders to achieve a shared vision.

In March 2022 Mayor Muriel Bowser proposed the Housing in Downtown program to encourage the creation of new housing in downtown; the Council amended and finalized the incentive during the FY23 budget process.
