Business Resources

One of the functions of the Business Development unit is helping companies navigate the business landscape in DC. This page contains a collection of resources for companies published by DMPED, other DC agencies, and partner organizations. Whether you’re starting, growing, or relocating your business to the District, these resources and their organizations are here to support you.

Hospitality and Tourism

The hospitality Industry is one of DC's strongest sectors, supporting more than 80,000 jobs in DC as of May 2017 — up nearly 6% from 2016. This diverse sector includes roughly 130 hotels with 31,000+ rooms, 2,000+ restaurants, and 45 performing arts venues with more than 27,000 seats.

St. Elizabeths East - Location

Located on a plateau along what has been termed the “Anacostia Hills,” the entire St Elizabeths complex rests near the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers.

As a medical facility, St. Elizabeths charted new ground and became a nationally recognized symbol of healthcare and medical breakthroughs. Today St Elizabeths East holds the promise for advancing new and global innovation on a much wider scale.

Inclusive Innovation

The District of Columbia approaches technological innovation and economic growth with a focus on the participation of historically unrepresented communities. The Business Development team is committed to making Washington, DC the capital of inclusive innovation. Below are a few resources, events and tools provided to help reach that goal:
