The Government of the District of Columbia (the “District”), through the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (“DMPED”), released a Request for Proposals on September 30, 2021, submission deadline was February 1, 2022, for the redevelopment of District-owned land consisting of Lots 54, 56, 858, 859, 860, 862, and a portion of 865 and 866 in Square 5601 located at or adjacent to 1234 Good Hope Road, SE (the “Development Parcel”).

Bowser Administration Sponsors $10,000 to Support Chefs Stopping Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Hate

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, the Bowser Administration sponsored $10,000 to support Chefs Stopping AAPI Hate, an initiative started by Chef Kevin Tien of Moon Rabbit and Chef Tim Ma of Lucky Danger to raise awareness and funds to stop Asian American and Pacific Islander hate. The grant will help the organization spread awareness through a collaboration of chefs to benefit Stop AAPI Hate & local organizations who work to stop anti-Asian racism.

Bowser Administration Relaunches the ExportDC Program to Support Local Business Expansion in Global Markets

(Washington, DC) – Today, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) announced the relaunch of ExportDC, the District’s first major export development program designed to support local businesses interested in expanding globally. The program’s first initiative includes the distribution of a $7,500 fund aimed at preparing local “Internationally Ready” businesses interested in participating in an upcoming virtual trade mission.

D.C. Expands Partnership with Landed to Help District Government Employees Buy Homes

Washington, DC – Today, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development John Falcicchio announced an expansion of the District’s partnership with Landed, a personal finance company aimed at helping public servants afford to buy homes, to all DC government employees. In 2019, the District partnered with Landed to offer DC’s public-school teachers and staff guidance and financial assistance in purchasing a home.

L Street & New Jersey Avenue, NW

The District, through the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (“DMPED”), seeks to redevelop Lot 0083 of Square 0559, a parcel of land located at New Jersey Ave NW, also referred to as the L Street & New Jersey Avenue redevelopment. The Parcel is approximately 15,000 square feet in size and sits within the Northwest One area of Washington, D.C., clustered between Mount Vernon Triangle and NoMA.

Bowser Administration Celebrates Phase II Completion of 555 E Street SW and Encourages Support of Local Small Businesses

Washington, DC— Today, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development John Falcicchio, alongside developers from CityPartners and Paramount Development, and local e-commerce company NEAR.delivery, celebrated the completion of Phase 2 development at 555 E Street SW, which includes 194 new housing units, with 58 affordable senior units for seniors ages 62 and older.
