The Rock Creek Tennis Center, located at the corner of 16th and Kennedy Streets in Ward 4, hosts the longest-running professional tennis tournament held in the same location since 1969. The facility requires improvements to comply with the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour and Women's Tennis Association Tour event standards.  Per the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Grants Amendment Act of 2026 (D.C. Law 16-33; 73 DCR 11735), The Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development shall issue one or more grants to a leaseholder of the Rock Creek Tennis Center to make improvements to bring the facilities into compliance with Association of Tennis Professionals Tour and Women's Tennis Association Tour event standards. The Improvements will ensure continued eligibility for professional tournaments, support and enhance economic and tourism benefits for the District, and position the District as a premier destination for national and international tennis events. ​
