(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the revitalization of the Engine Company 12 fire station and parking lot owned by the District along Rhode Island Avenue NE in Ward 5. The District will prioritize proposals that create a vibrant, mixed-income and mixed-use community with a pedestrian-oriented design that strengthens the neighborhood and offers new housing, retail, amenities and job opportunities to District residents.
Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) launched the Special Event Relief Fund, a $1.4 million investment to support events that celebrate the culture of the District of Columbia and support local communities, and generate economic impact. The Special Event Relief Fund allows organizers of festivals and outdoor special events to apply for financial assistance to cover event expenses.

5 Innovators from Across the Globe Will Aim to Develop Ways to Help Achieve Health Equity in the District
(Washington, DC) - Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), and the Washington DC Economic Partnership announced the return of the DC Retail Summit for the third year in a row. This year’s summit will include a half-day virtual session of one-on-one conversations and panels under the theme, Forecasting Our Future. The retail community will explore how local businesses have pivoted over the past year and what’s next for DC retail and restaurants.
