The District's economic development arm has no plans yet to withdraw its support for Qatari capital for the city's commercial real estate as five Arab nations cut ties with the Persian Gulf country for allegedly allowing militant activity.
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development seeks to develop a District-owned property located directly across Howard Road from the Anacostia Metro Station. The property is currently vacant and zoned for medium-density residential development. It may possibly be re-zoned to allow for mixed-use development.
