District Releases Progress Report on Comprehensive Plan

(Washington, DC) - Mayor Adrian M. Fenty on Monday released Moving from Vision to Reality: a Comprehensive Plan Progress Report, which provides a status update on the implementation of the District’s Comprehensive Plan.

“The Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year blueprint for the growth, development and preservation of our city,” said Mayor Fenty. “Literally thousands of residents worked together to produce the plan and we are holding ourselves accountable for putting it into action – building a more inclusive, vibrant, sustainable world-class city.”

Approved by the District of Columbia Council in 2006, the Administration began tracking its implementation in 2007. The plan details 626 action items and includes guidance about timelines and which agencies should lead certain initiatives. While 30 percent of the action items were slated to begin before 2010, District agencies have begun 75 percent of those items.

The Comprehensive Plan Progress Report is available here.
