Respondents Seeking to be the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Master Developer Present to the Community

The Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Victor L.Hoskins will be joined by Walter Reed Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) Director Martine Combal, principals from responding developer teams to the recently issued the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a master developer for the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center site, other staff from the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), and area residents for a community open house where DMPED and responding developers will share potential proposals for redevelopment of the site with local community members and the general public.

Background

After selecting qualified respondents from among nine firms responding to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a Master Developer for the site, District officials issued a RFP in early May.  Responding development teams will present their proposals to the community and they are as follows – ForestCity Washington, Hines – Urban Atlantic, and Roadside Development. Following this meeting and after an opportunity for the advisory neighborhood commissions to comment, a winning developer team will be selected no later than mid-fall.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend and ask questions of the developer teams and the Walter Reed LRA
