As part of a citywide effort to renovate and construct recreation centers and public parks, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, in partnership with the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization, is adapting the old Birney Elementary School to house an improved Barry Farm Recreation Center. Amenities within the new facility include an 11,000sf indoor gymnasium, new pool, multi-purpose field, basketball courts and bleachers, playground, community room and kitchenette.
