Procurement and Contracts

The District and federal governments purchase a variety of goods and services. The Office of Contracting and Procurement is the main procurement source for DC government purchases. The federal government provides several avenues for procurement opportunities.

District Resources

  • The Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) provides schedules, employment opportunities, business requirements, and procurement forecasts. You can also find the latest contract news here.
  • The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) fosters economic growth and the development of local, small, and disadvantaged business enterprises. Find resources, apply for certification, get involved in advocacy, and search for Local, Small, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (LSDBE) certified contractors.

Federal Government Resources

  • FedBizOpps is the government point-of-entry for procurement opportunities over $25,000. Buyers can publicize opportunities, and vendors looking for federal markets can search, monitor, and retrieve contracting opportunities.
  • SBA's Contracting Resources for Small Businesses section offers information about understanding the federal marketplace, using the System for Award Management (SAM), GSA Schedules, etc.
