Developers to Present Proposals to Community on June 10, 2009

(Washington, DC) – The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development today announced it has trimmed its short list of developers seeking the right to redevelop the former Hine Junior High School site from six teams to four teams.
Capitol Hill’s Hine site is located between Eastern Market and the Eastern Market Metrorail Station along Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The short list teams’ plans include various combinations of new housing, office space, nonprofit space and neighborhood-serving retail. The District issued a solicitation for development proposals late last year and bids were due in late March.
The short listed teams are:
- The Bozzutto Group/Scallan Properties/Lehr Jackson Associates/E.R. Bacon Development, LLC/Blue
- Skye Development/CityStrategy, LLC
- National Leadership Campus/Western Development Group
- Stanton Development Corporation/Eastbanc Inc./Autopark Inc./The Jarvis Companies/Dantes Partners
- StreetSense/DSF/Menkiti Group
On June 10, 2009 the District will host a community meeting at nearby Tyler Elementary School where each of the development teams will share their proposals with the public. Located at 1001 G Street, SE, the meeting will begin at 6 pm.
