Convention Center HQ Hotel

Rendering of the Convention Center Hotel

The Convention Center HQ Hotel project is vital to the long-term success of the convention center and the District’s robust hospitality industry. It is a necessary asset to ensure the District retains its competitive position as a top-tier destination for the convention and meetings industry.

The Marriott-flagged hotel will incorporate the historic façade of a former labor union building on a two-acre site along Ninth Street in the heart of the Shaw neighborhood. The Marriott Marquis will be one of the largest hotels in the region and include amenities such as street-level retail including several restaurants, a coffee shop, a sports bar and meeting and ballroom space and an underground parking garage. Located within a block of CityCenter DC, a $1 billion retail and entertainment project, the hotel will allow visitors to stay within a short walk to first-class shopping and dining.
