Mayor Vincent C. Gray to Take Steps toward a Focused Five-Year Economic Development Strategy


 

What/Who:              

Mayor Vincent. C. Gray, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Victor L. Hoskins, university officials and private stakeholders will announce the launch of work to complete the District’s Five-Year Economic Development Strategy during a luncheon event. The work will be done in tandem with area universities and matriculating graduate students along with the aid of private-sector stakeholders from seven industry sectors most represented in the Washington metropolitan region.

Background:           

The five-year Economic Development Strategy delivers on the Mayor’s promise to provide the District with a bold, comprehensive strategy to guide such work throughout the government. The strategy seeks to provide city leaders and residents with three deliverables – an economic-impact model, a public-sector strategy and private-sector commitments. A Strategy Advisory Group will aid the District government and university researchers with the plan’s development.
